Those who are settled or moved to Boston. How do you like it there? Good place to raise a family?
I studied at BU. 2 years for masters. Went for walks at 4 am and nothing happened
When was this?
I graduated in Jan 2021, moving out of Boston next weekend, to go try SF for an year.
The Little Peach in Andrew Sq has a hot Kino ticket.
I miss Boston especially Brighton neighborhood
I have lived there for a year. Worst city In the country
Why?
Small, crazy expensive, very boring, far from nyc. Pros: pristine/clean, top schools, lots of smart people
Do you mean Boston or Ma in general. Houses are definitely cheaper than Seattle but property tax is higher. School districts are good but lots of magnate and private schools that cost about the same as private schools in the Bay Area.
Boston and nearby specifically. Why private school if school districts are good? Do you live there?
School districts are not that good compared to Seattle or Bay Area. Compare for yourself. But the private and magnate schools are plenty and on par if not better than west coast ones.
Used to live there. Some bureaucracy is a PITA in regards to living there. Good companies, wonderful part of the country, great place to live. Would absolutely raise a family there if you can afford it. Incredible healthcare and schools. I miss it sometimes and feel like I have unfinished time there. Sports fanaticism is a bit...much at times though.
Could you elaborate affordability part?
Most SFHs in the suburbs are going to be $1M+, though in better neighborhoods expect $3M or more. As you move into the actual city, it's hard to find them at all, but they get up beyond $5M quick. Condos and townhomes are much more affordable, typically under $800k in the suburbs and under $1M closer to the city.

It’s a decent place to raise a family. Really expensive homes around the Newton area or you can move further out into the suburbs. I don’t know much about high schools but they don’t seem to be bad and there are so many options for college in the state and surrounding cities that the kids will be fine. But yeah, it can be a boring city if you didn’t grow up here and just moved to the city.
Boring? Why?
I've had family living there for well over a decade and I'm not a huge fan. Would move there for a great offer but not looking to move there intentionally anytime soon. Awesome place to go to college though. Tons of young people in the area for most of the year. Public transportation kinda sucks tbh and shitty NE weather
