I appreciate your guidance here. recruiter shared the tc for staff-level pm to be $300K base: ~220 - 230k rsu: ~$70/yr I have about 8-10 years of PM exp. including working on ML models And this is an ML-focused PM role. Don’t waste too much time with them, engineering manager ghosted me after cold calling and being aggressive.

I guess yours was an engineering role? Mine is for the PM role. I already spoke to the hiring manager - he was down and we had a good chat. But sounds like the company pays pretty low!

What company (really what tier) are you coming from? How long were you there? Did your equity appreciate and raise your TC along the way? I have a significant amount of market data at my disposal and can share that there are few companies that will guarantee a TC that high for that role with *liquid equity. They are mostly known top tier companies. You can definitely do it but it’s not the norm (PMs love distribution curves). It’s much more likely to land in that range in pre-IPO land. You can always find better comp and the grass will always be greener for sure, but you come to box for to grow and get opportunities you wouldn't get at other companies. Good luck!
