Hi folks, I checked the openings on software engineer roles and none of them exist as they were 1 month ago. Also rumor says some recruiters were let go. Still hiring but positions all closed? Hiring freeze? Is there any insights? Layoffs coming? #layoff #box TC: 270k YoE: 5
We are pretty conservative with hiring since the pandemic itself. Have been replacing a US employee leaving the company with someone from Poland or Amsterdam. So comparatively, we are in a much safer spot compared to other companies that over-hired during the pandemic. I would suggest giving it a shot if u see any openings out there, since that means they are in real need of someone for that role
Thank you so much! I’m interviewing for a role but I see other roles that were open before are not showing up anymore which makes me wonder if the roles are closed or it is just no roles are opening anymore
We are still hiring for certain roles, but greatly reduced hiring plan for 2023. I think it's about 10% of the headcount plan they had 6 months ago. I think most groups have adjusted their job posting to reflect this, so if you see an open role on our be site it should a real role that is hiring. And yes a small number of recruiting was laid off. I think about 9 people.

I applied to box a few weeks ago when they still had open swe roles. I even heard back from a recruiter asking me when I could interview. Never heard back after I responded to the email. Tried following up but nothing…
That’s super scary sign
Fwiw I know our open swe roles were absolutely bombarded with applicants since December. Literally 20x typical amount.
