Currently at Intel Oregon. If I want to go for an mba in 2 years and move to finance/consulting, should I try to move to FAANG in the Bay Area just to improve my chances of getting into a better mba program? Or is the Intel brand good enough? Do mba adcoms care about Intel vs FAANG when they look at applications? YOE - 2.5 years after MS #MBA #tech
Does doing MBA makes sense in long term, in terms of Salary if I want to stay in tech industry only?
meaning? a piece of paper can do wonder for your salary? you need to change your thinking
You should apply already. Intel brand is good enough. I know enough people that went for MBAs at Harvard, Columbia, UC Berkeley, Chicago Booth, Texas McCombs, from Texas Instruments. Need good recommendations, show good career progression, and strong interview.
That's promising.
OP, yoe?
Good point. Updated my post with YOE

Rahul Gandhi is poison but the people who believe in him are a lot worse
what matters is what you do and how good stories you write in your essays. A high GMAT score, tough if you are male, asian and SWE. Bonus points of you are a female. It is all about how diverse your experience is and how will you make the cohort even better
Not swe - mechanical engineer. But Indian male - so I guess I do come under the over represented category 😒
Brand is good enough and wont make a difference if you move to FAANG and do the same thing you are doing at intel. Infant work on your brand-patents, weird useful stuff, speaking engagements, get published. To be honest with not much experience, you could get into tier 2. You have to get a high GMAT
