I just got an ICB4 offer from Broadcom: Base 175k Rsu: 415k$ worth over 4 years Bonus: 25% No sign on bonus YoE: 9 Location: Bay Area Current TC: 350k How much can I negotiate the offer to? Can someone share the upper end of a Broadcom offer and any advice? Thanks. #hardware #broadcom
Ask 550k rsu, rest they don't budge, also ask joining bonus
What's a decent joining bonus to ask for that won't be turned down? I had asked for joining bonus initially and they turned me down so would love to know if this is something I should push for. Thanks!
30k should be ok
RSU is based on level, so they won’t budge on that. The only thing you can ask is the base and maybe the sign on if there is one. Bonus is also based on level.
So you are effectively going for less TC ?
Not going yet.
Hey @op , not sure about your current working model but remember Broadcom is one of the very few companies which is very strict wrt 5 days RTO .
Your new TC will be less than your current TC 350 .
Umm, hence looking for inputs on negotiation.
Well, if he is a decent performer he can expect 120-150k extra RSU EVERY year. That is stacked RSU. Also Broadcom stock appreciation value is GOOD. For example, when they offered to buy VMware 18 months ago, stock price was $520. Today it’s $1120 & poised to keep rising. Microsoft stock doesn’t perform like that
Which BU in Broadcom ? The fact that this is lower than your correct TC should mean you be willing to reject this offer. At ICB4, you can expect yearly refresher of 120-150k. You can factor that in your calculations
Csg
Csg is Broadcom's cash cow, so push harder
Except for the bonus%, everything else is negotiable for a given level. You are already 9yr experienced and it would be a minimum of 4 years to get a promotion .. Factor that in.. Your current TC includes all the stock refreshers so you should not be doing direct comparison though money is money
The mininun of 4 years is in policy?
Like others have mentioned the RSU grant is fixed for a grade and there is no room. Make sure you double check if you will get refreshers or not in March 2024. If by any chance you will then you should count that. Push for higher base closer to 200k and see what best they can offer. Are you ok with 5days RTO ? Whats the motivation for change ?
Just weighing my options at this point. Thank you. I am seeing contradictory POVs about being able to negotiate RSUs so a bit confused.
your best bet is base. In recent years people have got 190-200k+. Give it a shot for RSU also but based on the offered amount this in line with ic4 numbers in recent past
Op- what is your current level in msft?
Hi OP, congratulations on the job offer. If I may ask, what role did you interview for?
415k rsu per year ?
No, over 4 years Let me edit the post.
