Hi, all. I’m looking to invest in an Android phone as a burner phone for a business trip that’s coming up soon (and for any future travels). My choices are between the Samsung Galaxy S9, Samsung Galaxy A23, Motorola Moto 2022 G Stylus and Samsung Galaxy Note 20, though I’m open to other options. I’m looking to prioritize connectivity and speed since I’ll be traveling, though something easy to maintain and with open-source functionality would be great. Bonus points for privacy and security features so that my information is secure and encrypted. My budget is about $300-400 (most of the phones I’m looking at are on sale). Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated. UPDATE: I ended up going with the Google Pixel 6a and installing GrapheneOS on it as per a comment below. It’s been worth it so far. Don't cheat
Sadly, I’m not even in the position where I have someone to cheat on, LMAO.
LMAO
I thought about Google Pixel. Never heard of GrapheneOS, though. Is that a Linux distro?
Sounds interesting. Thank you for the suggestion; I’ll look into it later.
My dealer has a Motorola razer. Great guy and great reception every time I call him 10/10
Thank you for the input. I’ll look and see if they have a Razer.
“I care about my privacy” aka I’m into some sick shit that’s going to get my jailed.
Imagine coming into a thread asking about phone recommendations and accusing someone of doing something illegal because they hold beliefs different to yours. For the last time, I care about not risking my main phone when traveling and about how my information is used.
I think there’s a good deal on Pixel 6a right now, before the 7a gets launched and they are clearing stock. It’ll probably get more updates than your other options.
I was also looking at the 6A earlier. It would run me about $300, but it would be a good long term option. EDIT: Ended up getting the 6A; it’s been a great deal so far.
You can look at refurbished option for newer Galaxy models like S21, S22. They work just well
Just get an international plan
It’s within the continental US, so it’ll likely be prepaid. I’m worried about theft mostly.
Where you headed?
