I always thought Teslas were special cars until my Uber driver pulled up with one. I couldn’t believe how small it is inside (the model 3). The interior is all plastic except for the huge iPad in the middle lmao. On top of that, the car produces these foul smell (idk whether it’s from the electric whatever) and I just felt like puking afterwards (nothing to do with cleanliness or driver hygiene. It’s the freaking car). Why do people buy these cars? TC: 190k
Tax incentive from both state and government. Before, some state offer reduce car fee rate or free toll on the road. Some charging station were free. It has changed recently because more and more people have electrical cars. Tesla was a considered “luxury” status when it only came out with the S, X, and Roadster. When they launched affordable model 3, that’s when there was a huge wave of preorders. Now it’s just a lot cheaper.
Model 3 is an all in $40k EV with sport performance. It’s priced awkwardly $5-8k above a decent Toyota and $5-8k below an entry level luxury with package
Teslas been the Camry replacement in the Bay Area for a few years. Boring and bland.
Not everyone can afford a good car op.
As an owner of a 3, it is a nice car for the price you pay. If you live in a place with cheap electricity, honestly it beats most cars in the same price bracket. The charging network is great. The performance due it having the electric motor is also much better than most ICE cars. With that said, the quality is absolutely subpar lol. The interior feels even more basic than my old mazda apart from the huge screen. Simple shit like changing AC flow or ‘dumb’ automated wipers and lights or the lack of Blind Spot monitoring (a feature my cheap Mazda had) get on your nerves. The road noise is also absolutely horrible due to the frameless glass which honestly doesn’t seal as well. Overall, it is a decent car but it was never ‘luxury’. I don’t understand why people had this perception. I guess the price hikes made it seem like one but now that it has popped back to reality, most folks understand that it was never that ‘luxurious’. Honestly if I’m in the market for a 2nd bigger EV, I’m looking elsewhere especially since I charge at home and rarely roadtrip.
Go for Mach E. Recently, I took a test drive for Tesla Y and Mach E both. Mach E's driving experience is way better than Tesla.
Clueless. There is no smell to the car. It’s the driver and whatever they’re doing in the car. If you want an EV, there’s really no alternative. Charging networks, tax incentive, and performance. Tesla is the best there is in the EV class.
Model 3 is great. You just have bad taste.
Tesla's are the best cars made on this planet for this price point till date.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Because it's the best EV car on the market.
The 3 most definitely is not.
The model x is not bad plus it has falcon wing doors. Porsche has better interiors but the tech in Tesla is super comfortable. It’s nice to not have to hold the brakes while driving and to never open doors manually. But yeah the Uber ones are meh. But they’re only like 30k so what do you expect?
You cannot turn on ac/fan while driving the car because u have to take eyes off the road to find the buttons that keeps changing locations due to software updates. Some advancements 😂
You obviously can in 2 ways. One of the recent software updates solved that problem. The updates are OTA, so that’s a positive. You can also use your voice to do it.
