I'm looking to switch to iPhone after only using Samsung since the original Galaxy S. I currently have the Note20 Ultra and love its camera for taking pictures of my kids and nature, so I'm looking at the 12 Pro Max. What am I going to be missing by switching to Apple? Here's what I've got so far and I think the positives outweigh the negatives by far Some positives: -Apple doesn't allow carrier bloat -iOS updates don't have to pass through two additional companies before rollout -OS isn't made by an ad company so I expect more privacy - app store instead of play store (less garbage) - no curved screen Some negatives: -Apple has the most overt disrespect for their customer base. I'll be nickel & dime'd with non- standard charging ports (why no usb-c in 2020) - no manual camera control like Samsung - bezels look enormous after getting used to Samsung's curved screen -no s pen
I missed back button (iOS shows it on top right corner and not always present) Pause/resume while in video mode Not having numbers/alphas on keyboard same time Lack of Whatsapp's restorability to iOS from Android And bunch more that are small but when you add up looked big. I went back to Andriod in a week. I tried apple because my entertainment, work laptop and kids devices are in apple eco system.
Once you're sucked into the Apple ecosystem, it's difficult to get out. So be careful of what you're signing up for.
Very true, I was a die hard pure Android fan, last year wanted to try out iphone, brought iphone 11 pro and Apple watch. Now I can live without iphone NOT without Watch. (No good alternative in Android) Monster Apple decided Apple watch only works if u have an iPhone.
Could you tell me why you need the watch? I'm not trying to diss you or anything but genuinely curious why people need that kind of device strapped to their hand.
#1. Alarm, Apple watch vibrates like a touch in my wrist. I don't want to wake up my entire family #2. Notifications and u can take calls from ur watch, Apple pay with watch #3. Timer #4. Fitness- When I see my fitness rings are not closed EOD, I intentionally go for brisk walk and complete my all 3 rings Offcourse I can get rid of all the above, it's just I am used to this convenience Alpha_7 what u use ?
Nothing. I like an old school watch. If I need to see notifications or make a call, I'll use my phone. Why do I need a watch for it? Plus, I don't something to constantly track me (on top of what the phones inherently do). The way I see it is that if it's not important enough for me to reach for my phone, it's not worth looking at.
Hmm I don't disagree. Mybe I fell for Apple Marketing BS 😆
I missed using my phone as a flash drive. There is no way to copy files from any computer to phone, only through iTunes or iCloud, that is inconvenient sometimes. So I switched back to Samsung. It was like this 2 years ago, don't know if they changed something since then.
Haven't used a flash drive in years. Pay for Office so have a terabyte on onedrive
Siri cannot assist with incoming calls and filter out spam (I didn’t have many spam calls though, just a few in the last year). I switched from Android phone 5 years ago, so I don’t know whether it is still an issue, but UI in Windows and iOS phones was more responsive.
Tried android to iOS migration a few years ago, came running back in a week. I owned the the original iPhone and that's where today's smartphones all come from but I'm too used to android now and it was just the small things I couldn't live w/o at the time, lack of back button being a major one.
Have been struggling with same decision. The reason to stick with Android is the swipe gestures. Being able to go back in apps with right hand side edge swipe is amazing. iPhone has it on the left

'Hindutva': The Radical Hindu Ideology That Seeks to 'Push Christianity Out of India’
Apple doesn't allow domain blocking of all the network traffic. That's an insane drawback!
U mean private DNS? How did u do it in Android without rooting ?
Private DNS is a completely different thing. You're depending on the DNS server to do the filtering for you. Earlier you could do setup a private DNS for individual networks. Android 9 onwards, it's fairly straightforward to set it for the whole device.
