If money is important to you or money is your god, fine. If you prefer personal growth and still want to make a good living, don't join FAANG and Big Tech. They won't give you the opportunity to make impact, they are resting in their cradle of power, they are moving slow, and so will you. YoE: 4 TC: $250k #tech #faang #bigtech #startups #growth
lol
Or in the case of Google, you don't even get money, you get prestige instead.
I would say Google does have pretty boring positions indeed
You are assuming that a small tech company is guaranteeing growth. It doesn't. By joining FAANG at least you can guarantee money. Growth can be achieved by taking on more responsibilities and tackling harder problems. The advantage of FAANG is you have a lottttt of problems to solve. So you can choose whichever guarantees your growth.
Lol wtf? Big tech is the best place to grow your career because you work on interesting problems at scale learning from incredibly smart people... If you're on the right team. Big big tech will inevitably have teams that serve no real purpose but you can still learn a lot. There are far more dead teams at non tech firms than at tech firms, and the engineers on average care a lot less. That's far more of a career dead end. Meanwhile any company would go head over heels for ex-FAANG and subsequently deadend their career.
No, I was in Big Tech (not FAANG) myself.
Not true for Amazon or Meta. Can get both growth/impact and money.
Bolt is literally just an web API company, which is honestly still very over valued I have to tell you, how interesting can that be? Amazon has so many more fun problems, and so does Meta.
What does Bolt have to do with OPs statement? I'm saying that Amazon and Meta give both opportunities for growth and lots of money
