Gotta factor in the low SG tax. Do a calculation overall and compare post tax salary, and post tax savings in either country. Off hand, looks like 190k CAD is 122k CAD (125k SGD) post tax, and 130k SGD is 120k SGD post tax. Now they are both comparable.

190k CAD is way way better than 130k SGD. you can save ton of money via RRSP deductions. Your actual tax rate will be way lower. You can’t just compare blind absolute tax rates . Not to mention that Vancouver renting is cheaper than Singapore
The location is Toronto. But again, rent there also is cheaper than Singapore it seems.

If you can’t speak Chinese, it is never a good idea to work at bytedance. Unless you want to take a risk for the experience of working with 800M mau user base and jump to gpay team in Google sg or fb sg later.
