It’s very possible to admire someone’s expertise and detest their morality/ethics. It’s certainly much easier to do if you approach the world as non-binary. ie we all live in shades of grey. #allYourHerosAreAssholesToSomebody
It's true that valuing someone's contributions isn't the same as respecting them - but not everything is shades of grey. When it comes to issues like these, it's pretty black and white.
I think you’re missing the concept of “shades of grey” I have no thoughts on Draper personally but the larger point is there are no angels or demons. Not to say he gets a pass. Treat him (whoever) as applicable and prosecutable by law & society AND let’s avoid building exalted pedestal for fallible beings
The riding on the back story, as unusual as it reads, seems to have been a consentual act. Not sure I see the violation.
What makes someone blindly believe in these accusations? What if someone decides to ruin your life and starts claiming about your "inappropriate behavior" here and there? Shouldn't people listen to court verdict? And keep in mind that principle - "innocent until proven guilty".
Are we beginning a process where our former heroes are cut down in scandals and have their status lowered to scum? This seems fishy that so many cases are being pursued in a short amount of time (or at least publicized). What’s really going on here? Could it be that fame turns everyone into a pervert who can’t control themselves? -_- But really, what’s going on?
Like I said... If any of you met the guy, you'll know this isn't a surprise. Have witnessed the strangeness first hand.
I would love to know what value you were hoping to bring to Blind community with this post.
It's mildly relevant news I guess
This has more relevance to tech than the bullshit relationship questions asked here constantly.
