I am a huge fan of designing... even more than coding. I have done some courses in designing software and I try to resolve problems using these patterns. The issue is that we rarely use them in our team and I would say it is somewhat discouraged as well. This is one of the major reasons for me that I am thinking for an internal switch as I am not learning much in designing. Also any interview experience which I have read usually focus on competitive coding and not designing(SDE 1 level - reference of Amazon and Google). All these things make me wonder if they are even necessary and if they should be used? Also how vital it is to know them in interviews for internal switch inside SAP? FYI.. I am T1.2 and don't have much experience in the design side of software world:p Also I would like some guidance on what should I learn next if my ultimate goal is to design and architect a super badass product!? #design #interviews #engineering
Interviewers just ask singleton design pattern.
Damn this is hard to hear.. It feels I have wasted a lot of my time into something which would not bring me much good. I could have invested my time in competitive coding instead
I think it’s better to do GOF design patterns as it will improve your coding style, but for interviews you need to do leetcode/geeks4geeks.
