How to invest in India as an NRI?
Affirm employees, do you think you guys are going to make it big? I'm contemplating a job offer.
That place is going nowhere fast. Max sucks.
What's wrong with him?
My feedback comes from interviews with their whole leadership team and back channel references from people who work/worked there. The leadership core have no formative experience scaling from a - b. It's a classic eng driven org circle jerk. At some point they'll realize they need to chew gum and walk at the same time. Outside of Product and eng, you're going to be told what to do no matter your experience level. Orgs that can't figure out how to trust one another to make the right choices go no where fast.
No personal experience but they are highly rated on Glassdoor
Some companies are sadly incentivizing a good review and rewarding those that do. I find the negative reviews most enlightening.
Affirm does not incentivize its people to write positive reviews.
Big is relative, we're unlikely to reach Facebook or Uber size anytime soon, but the trajectory is in the right direction.
Referral?
I really like it here. Incumbents in the industry we're in are pretty much universally reviled, the target market is really big, and decision makers are all experienced, so at least the fundamentals for success are there. But like any startup you should judge the risk for yourself.
Lol 😂
Trash company!! This is the most fraudulent way to do business in the 21st century. Not sure how the employees can sleep peacefully knowing that they are charging 30% interest and ripping off the urban poor and middle class. Slow clap...👏
What was the offer? Also considering
You got an offer from them?
They told me max 150 base so I stopped the interview process
I'm also contemplating a job offer from them. Max base is 169, I'm at 185 rn with a higher title at a smaller startup. Not sure if it's the right move. I have 8 YOE in tech (worked at Apple, Google previously). Base feels really low but the opportunity seems like something that would grow my skillset/resume
How much stock did they offer
Great thread!
I hear great things from shoppers that have used it.
