As the title says: can anyone give me feedback on TaskUS culture?
It’s really solid and supportive from the consulting side. Highly recommend.
It’s legitimately a people focused and transparent from the top all the way down.
I just got laid off from TaskUs. I worked for them over a year. Overall I liked the job and the company. TaskUs was flexible and laid back. Nothing about the job was very demanding and the company puts a lot of work into making sure employees are happy. The company focused on wellness and once a week workers had a 30 minute wellness break in their schedules and lots of employee activities. TaskUs has a young fun culture. However, I did not like the fact the company seemed to have a high tolerance for poor performers. TaskUs gets paid per body in a seat and they carefully watch their turnover. For the entire time I worked for them no one was fired and we had people on our Team who literally did nothing. We were remote and some days or weeks they would not work at all. TaskUs made the determination to keep them on as long as there were workhorses actually doing the job. In fact, many employees productivity was so low managers stopped disclosing our metrics. They use to. Then they stopped. Because the metrics would show some workers completing 600 cases a week and others 12. Or less than 12. And these workers weren't missing days. Also, it was very hard to get any schedule issue resolved. For that entire year I had an incorrect schedule and no one could get it fixed. Not my manager and not even the operations manager. So they told me to stop worrying about the attendance notifications I recieved daily about tardiness. TaskUs also had a rather extreme "Assignment of Inventions" clause you had to agree to when hired. Some states are making these clauses in Employment contracts illegal. When you read the fine print it basically says if you invent something taskus owns it. Yep. That's what it says. The invention does not have to be created using their software or system and it does not Have to do with the job. You don't have to be employed. Even if you've left the company and 30 years down the road let's say toy invent something. Taskus will make claim. At least thats how the contract reads to me. They forever own your mind. It's really scary stuff some of these companies put in the contracts. The Southern states let's them do it. Last, TaskUs shaved my time. I'm referring to my clock in time. They would alter my hours. It's essentially wage Theft.
