JPMorgan Chase Offer Evaluation
Got an offer from JPMorgan Chase for NYC for 602 level. Base: 160k Bonus: 27k/year (Guessing it would be performance based. No sign on. No RSU. No relocation. Yoe: 3 TC: 102 + 25 Is this a good offer? Could I ask for relocation or sign on? #jpmorganchase #jpmorgan #engineering #software #swe

602 is a great offer for 3 yoe, usually that's more like 4-5
Yeah they didn’t mention what position they’re hiring me for. And when they told me they’re interested in me and were gonna give me an offer, I was expecting 601

Because SEP is bs. I know folk getting vp in < 4 years yet hr will block someone from getting 602 unless they’ve a been 601 for 2 years min. It’s all dumb.
If it makes you feel any better, most of my conversations happened were with the understanding that I’m applying for 601. The level was never discussed but that’s what I was shooting for. Also, on the written offer, they dropped the compensation by 10k+, claiming that’s what was discussed. The vibes aren’t very good and the whole process seems unprofessional and unorganized.
Don’t feel bad. They offered what they offered. I have friends who where VP after 4 years starting as graduates. JPs policy is all over the place. And right now they are a mess. I’m quitting now, it’s a decent place for an easy pay check but there are much better places to work
Stay away from JPM. It’s toxic all around.

Please take all of these comments with a grain of salt. “Good for JPMC” might mean 60% of market value instead of 50%

I’d try negotiating a sign-on or relocation. I’m really surprised that they didn’t offer that actually!
