If you really have to ask this from blind, SWE for sure! It takes lots of preparation, commitment and opportunity loss at least the first two years as a CTO
SWE at FAANG. 100k CTO is a joke and will be a red flag of your resume, imho. I assume you don’t have experience.
I've never seen those as red flags when interviewing, just as an experience that wasn't strictly honing skills more relevant to FAANG SWE roles - sometimes it's better than seeing a no name company SWE role tbh. Depending on experience level it can also be very impressive to see someone with expanded responsibilities.

Then its not a CTO. Its a technical lead. These college kids massively misunderstand the role of CTO smh
Take the startup if you are solving for something really hard or cool. Your experience will put you on a different trajectory.
Keep in mind that the 7% equity will get diluted with funding rounds!
