Which is the cheapest place to purchase & install new tires, and dispose old tires in Mountain View/Sunnyvale/Cupertino area? Is discountTireDirect.com cheapest since they waive mounting fees? They do tack on disposal fees if you want them to dispose old tires. Discount tire stores tack on $16 mount fees per tire if purchased in store rather than on the site (plus disposal fees). TireRack.com us excellent, but adding shipping (approx $17 per tire) kills the deal. Most local stores seen to charge $15 mount fees per tire (plus disposal fee) Costco is slightly on the expensive side since their tires are rated for higher miles (90k), while given the age of my car, I'm likely looking at 55-65k miles in $65-75 range each. They're lower rates tires are more expensive, while their higher rated tires seem like a great deal. 2010 Honda accord LX (P215/60R16 size) approaching 6/32 tread soon. Suggestions?
Ive personally been a Wheel Works customer for a couple decades. No idea how they compare on price but their service has always been outstanding.
Not something I would try to go cheap on personally.
while I agree, I'm not trying to go cheap on the quality of tires. I'll likely buy a well rated one, but I want to minimize the cost of getting them installed. I'm not going to buy the absolutely cheapest available tires on the market for sure.
Firestone or Costco
Tirebuyer.com and have a local installer install it for u, if u r in seattle area, pm me i can give u recos
Changed my tires last week at America's Tires. I asked them on the price and they matched the online price and rebate for Costco.
I've used America tire/Firestone/Costco. In the end they are all about the same price but Costco tends to stand behind their stuff so by default I would use them. If you are really obsessed on price, then find the tire you want then find what installer has it. Installers have very low selection in stock, so you may easily get a "great deal" on a $200 dollar tire when the $50 tire that is not in stock, would have been just fine.
Costco
America's tire and get the warranty and thank me later
thanks everyone for the reply. I got a set of week rated tires from tirebuyer.com ($278) & had it installed at wheel works ($76 including mounting, recycling, and tpms rebuild). the free shipping combined with reasonable installation charges made this about 25% cheaper than discount tire.
I told u tirebuyer.com + local installer is the best combo! Dont u love boobies?..
You can't go wrong with Costco in my opinion, I wouldn't go anywhere else.
