I have received an offer from Cadence for Lead Application Engineer (is that AE3?). I believe it is not a good offer. Location: bay area Offer breakdown: base: 140k RSU: 16k over 4 years Sign-on bonus: 5k variable bonus: 15% YoE: 6 + MS what numbers should I ask for? #hardware #semiconductor
Are you asking this question after joining cadence ?
I didn't join yet as full time
That's worse than my offer 5 years back.
can you give me details .. like what to expect? how much increase should I ask in each category? and if you know the years of experience needed in each level? is Lead up to 6 yoe? what is the next level?
U should target no less than principal. The tittles are inflated being a sales domain. Just use the plenty of post of people from Intel etc tier to negotiate Aim for base 170 atleast . And stocks about 100/3 atleast. You have little control over bonus , don't bother about that. Ask sign on of 40k . / Relo. Lead is 2+ yoe.
what internal forum?
Use your inner child to explore this site a bit more, you will find the Easter egg
That offer sounds about right for years experience and EDA. Sorry to say.
Titles are super inflated in EDA companies especially Cadence. Director in Cadence would not map to a director in big tech product companies. Best case manager. VP will map to director in big tech product company. Not even a senior director
rsus are shit.. ask for $90k-$120k base $160-$170k signon $30k-$40k
that's true .. when I have checked previous posts for cadence offers I found mine is pretty depressing! specially for the RSUs and the signon
can you explain to me the title hierarchy? how many years of experience for Lead title? what comes after it?
