Hi I got digital design offers from two companies. Both small teams with <5 people under hiring manager. Cadence offers 10% more base and double RSU, which is of course more attractive but I am not quite sure how's its IP group going as a EDA company. Also any limitations for switching back to product company later? I am master with 6 yoe, definitely have to look further for the career path. The NXP Wifi looks ok since they are growing the team after acquisition from Marvell, Looking for more insight views. Thank you #cadence #cadencedesignsystems #cadencecompensation #nxpsemiconductor
+1 on the TC. SerDes IP is hard complex design - good experience if you can do well. CDNS and snps are basically the two IP leaders, just as in EDA and think both doing well. As long as you focus on design, product switch and all will not be an issue. Switching from an EDA role could be, not sure. Dont know much abt NXP.
CDNS TC: 200k NXP TC: 170k Target bonus is same as 10%. But as far as I know, there is no bonus for NXP this year, how about cadence?
Yoe?

What is cadence and nxp split TC? Would mostly recommend cadence.
What location for both these companies OP?
both in bay area.
Had worked in the CDNS SerDes group. Absolutely brilliant folks. Don't know if Eric Naviasky and Hugh Thompson are still there. They knew their shit. As mentioned previously, SerDes is a complex design. I don't think you will have a problem move into a product company later on. A product company typically puts a lot of emphasis on testing and factory trimming which you might miss in an IP company but you can pick that up without too much difficulty anyways.
+1 👍
Great! thank you for sharing your experience. It seems the people you mention are working in the team of Maryland.
