well it makes sense. I cant name a single other WNBA player, and many people already have Cowboys jerseys, while no one previously had Clark in the WNBA.
It’s a weird comparison because people tend to be loyal to their own team. There’s no way in hell I’d ever buy a Cowboys jersey because they’re a hated rival. I suspect that the Clark jerseys are popular now because she hasn’t started playing for the Fever yet. Yay to her and the WNBA for the jerseys being popular right now, though. It’s not a zero-sum game. The WNBA can gain in popularity without it taking anything away from any other sport. Personally, I’d rather have a Sue Bird jersey, but for now I’m buying NIL gear from the athletes of the NCAAW team I support.

It’s a work in progress. I’ve always found the WNBA boring, but watching Clark pull up from deep is super entertaining. She’s raising the bar for talent, which could make the WNBA more entertaining. We’ll have to see I’ve never seen a single women’s game until this years college season and I’m starting to get pulled in.
