I am in a very strong position in Cisco that I will not be fired. But got my GC few months and I am bored in Cisco. The only big player recruiting in industry is AWS. I have an interview call in EC2 or AppStream and wondering if I should consider this? How does AWS/Amazon handle if the economy gets worser. Should I stay in Cisco till things get better or consider AWS? TC:400k
AWS is full of oncall work
How did you like the team when you interviewed
I’d ride out the storm right where you are.
I would wait till you see an offer to make a better decision
I have worked for AWS and Cisco. I regret leaving Cisco every day. Don’t leave heaven for an adventure in hell.
Elaborate pls
You know it's bad when Cisco is heaven in comparison
I’d stick it and use your free time to explore other things personally or professionally like a side gig
Do it. Cisco is boring af. I’m also leaving. Let’s goooo
EC2 has very bad WLB and harsh culture. I’m looking for getting myself out.
By now, isn’t EC2 mostly automated?
@OP How was your interview, if you went for it?

G12-Manager
For G12-manager, In bay area, you will get L6 SDM with probably 500-550k offer. Why not try Google L6 EM for a relatively peaceful life?
