Can I open LLC?

I am an Indian citizen working for an American company in the USA that sponsored my H1B visa. Can I open my own LLC (business entity structure) to buy an investment real estate property in the USA, using my LLC (Can I incorporate an LLC and can that LLC buy a real estate investment property)? I am looking to buy an property which I wanna rent in future. Any advice?

You can own an llc but need to hire someone for operating it. You can’t be actively working for it. If your spouse has h4 ead have them create own and operate it.

Are H1B visa holders not allowed to buy a house for rental purpose and make money ? I understand you're asking something at scale but just a house or two as rental income is legal or not ??

Yes you can buy as many rental as you want. You cannot do active property management though. Hire a property management company to manage day to day management.

Yes you can. I did and I had no issues

You can do it. But What’s your long term objective ? Do you want to invest a portfolio of rentals ? Or is it just for one or 2, if that, you can just take liability insurance instead.

Anyone can form company in the US. The only issue is you can’t actively work for it unless LLC sponsors you .

OP owns the LLC or whoever his friend or family member is acting as the owner of the LLC will sponsor OP himself. No issues.

I don't think so. I'm from CA and have a couple of rental properties. One in CA and another one in GA. Both of them are running via property management.
