Can I take legal action against my company ? My company is asking me to work at least 60 hours without any extra pay ?

Above + Manager says it’s the nature of the project and everyone is working like that. I checked on Google that labor laws doesn’t apply to corporate companies. Of course the easiest option is to quit but I want to know if I can do anything legally here which I’m missing ? PS - I’m not on visa

Well, that’s called a risk premium. They can be let go at anytime the risk of unemployment and can command higher pay (OT pay). Vise versa for you. Welcome to the real world. Go to France if you want an easy life 35 hour work week, work 20 hours, and job for life.

Find a new job and quit. The job market is very hot and you can easily find another one. Getting into legal issues is worth it for the ROI incase you're at Director or above level and even then quitting or speaking it out is the most recommended path.

Are you five years old? Because you apparently can’t read and have the temperament of a child. Read original post. Unless you’re too lazy. Go back under your bridge, Troll.

You are apparently too dumb to do the most basic research.

You work at amazon? If so consider yourself fortunate.

Microsoft HtIB24 Sep 29, 2018

If you're salaried, you're expected to work to the work. But that also means that it's on you to set expectations. If your boss is taking that to mean 60 hour weeks no matter what, it's time to find a new boss. (You don't have much legal recourse here unless you're union or hourly. Sorry.)

Come to Netherlands, where managers push you to go home if you’re still in the office at 6PM.

Are you an exempt employee? I’m assuming so. If that’s the case then you don’t have a case. Are they asking you to work 60 hours without any pay, or any “extra” pay above the 40 hours that’s standard.

Bank of The West GodsPlan Sep 29, 2018

You can’t take any legal action. Sorry

Microsoft CoolDud Sep 29, 2018

At will employment means you are working there out of your choice. Unless your you work so many hours that your hourly wage goes below minimum wage, you don't have much of a case

Fuck them and go find a new company . Don’t give them any notice period they don’t deserve it . Do the best you can to teach them a lesson 😎
