If I join FB and opt into their 401k plan, can I buy and sell individual stocks and ETFs or will I only be able to buy/sell index and mutual funds? (Have an offer, still negotiating, will post numbers once finalized)
You can. But don’t. I will say again. Don’t.
I understand the risks. But just setting aside 10-15% to trade stocks is healthy.
If you are thinking that you will be able to stay within that 15%, I will say no you won’t. Just don’t open that door. You aren’t smart, even if you think you are. Play with other money. Not retirement account. Stick with passive funds. You will not be able to beat it. I understand you will still ignore my opinion and discard as an old fool. But you will eventually realize.

Yes, you can use Fidelity BrokerageLink
Woohoo! Also, let's say your base is $200k. FB's contribution would be 50% of (7% of 200k), that is 7k?
Yes you are right. BTW you can include your bonus as well in your calculations.
