Is this just due to an unintentional bad implementation, or were the models tweaked to achieve another goal like save on resources? I've replaced search with Bing but stuck with YT, unfortunately. I think most people will agree that whatever this is, is absolute dogshit. Not only does it not show relevant results, it straight up shows unrelated videos I just watched. Don't even get me started on my recommendations.
How do you live with Bing? I gave it a legitimate try for a month but wanted to shoot myself everytime I used it.
It seems to be getting better. Also, Bing Chat with GPT 4 saves a lot of time by summarizing results. I also like how it integrates with Edge better.
The summarization was literally the only good thing about it. The search results are absolutely worthless 95 percent of the time.
Well, the goal of Google changed from customer service to making money. This reflects in search algorithms as they are optimizing a different objective.
Now that I think about it, other products have massively gone downhill as well.
Only people making search content are affiliate sites that need traffic. The rest of the world's knowledge is being consolidated into walled social media apps (except for reddit at this point). The push to generative AI will create an even bigger information vacuum.
So Google’s business model is dying

I noticed a couple months back google maps really started screwing up more than usual. It was around the same time they switched to genai for routing.
