Can subsidiary company give stock?

Hey I'm curious if you work for a company that is owned by a larger company (eg: work at Indeed which is owned by Recruit Holdings), can Indeed give me stock in Recruit Holdings as pay? I'm confused of the status of subsidiary companies whether they are private or public companies. Another example is I work at whole foods, can I get Amazon stock with my pay?
