2 years is a decently long time...I've seen resumes and interviewed people where they hop every single year for 2 decades+....somebody needs to fill the hire to fire quota at a lot of places
Depends on what you call a career. It's very hard to make it beyond staff/L6 without longer tenures because at that point part of the job description is being able to make multi-year decisions, and if you've never stuck around long enough to see the impact of your decisions...
Before the recession, you could jump from Google to Apple to Fb to Coinbase to L6 at Uber then back to Google and skip all that
This question reads like the OP thinks being a job hopper is a bad thing, no?
If it gets HMs to throw my resume in the trash for too short of tenures then yes it is bad
