I’m feeling really discouraged. Is anyone else in the same boat? I’ve been applying everyday, messaging recruiters about specific roles I’ve applied too and how my experience is relevant. Still no responses 😞 What can I do differently? Anyone have any advice to offer? For those in the same boat, how are you managing? In this market you gotta be really amazing so don’t feel bad I’m an average swe and I can’t get any manga level to respond
Fair enough, thanks
MANGA is actively firing
Try to directly ping the pm managers or whoever you think would be your M1 or M2 in that company on LinkedIn.. this worked for me in engineering side.. Filter by company.. search for engineering managers ( I did this )
What do you message them saying (especially if you’re not sure that’s actually the hm) - anything in particular that worked for you?
Say that I am looking for new opportunities. Let me know if you are hiring.
Dm your resume. I can review
Thanks appreciate it!
Can I dm mine too?
#1 thing you can do is have friends refer you. Bumps you straight to the top of the list when recruiters start to go through the candidates.
Makes sense. Unfortunately i don’t know many people in security pm space working at tech companies - which is what I’m targeting
The referrers don’t need to be in security. They just need to be at the company. The recruiters aren’t going to look up what the refer does.
I’m a security PM and can help review your resume / put in a referral if there’s any open roles that are of interest
I would really appreciate that. Thanks, will DM

Thanks!
Hey I'm a new grad looking for full time roles. Can I dm too?
It’s tough right now - it’s not just you. Referrals are not working at all - my friend who got laid off has referrals at all the FAANG and none of them reached out to him. They’re still going through internal freezes or second rounds of layoffs. My only advice is to get your résumé professionally reviewed to make sure it’ll attract attention. It shouldn’t be more than 2 pages long.
With your resume have you had luck in the past? I ask because I am curious if it is passing the ATS.

Cleared Amazon onsite, but lowballed.
Many many in the same boat. It will be better. Ask friends to review your resume
Thanks, hoping for better days for all of us. And will do!
