Hi, I have been on bench in Capgemini USA for a month. HR intimated friday is my last day in org. Will they give any severance package ? I have been with the firm for a year.
They are a consulting firm right? I doubt they give packages for people employed for such a short time.
Severance usually is based on tenure. They might be nice and give something for less than a year
Client? Location? Never heard Capgemini doing layoffs in states
They have started doing it from this month. Is little tricky. They kept people on common pool for 30 days and then layoff with 15 day’s notice. Total 45 days without project.
Talking about states or India?
Laid off for being in bench for just 1 month? That is harsh.
Had a friend who was laid off last week and had been on the bench for the last 3 months. He got severance of a month's pay
Is your friend works on h1b in US ?
I worked for Capgemini for 9 years. I was on bench for 2 months and I got laid off. I got an eight week severance package
So brutal. Sorry about that. Did you bag a new role by now?
Yes I did.
Worked for Capgemini for ~3.5 years here and got laid off as well, but I haven’t received my severance pay yet. I was told that they will hand out the pay within 60 days from my last day of employment, which is kinda ridiculously long…
Did you get it till now? You should email the HR and tell them you'll put a formal complaint or a case against them.
Not good repo for @capgemini .. that have very limited customer base at pacific .. they use
Sickening company . Absolutely horrible.
Doesn't the WARN act apply here, 60 days notice or severance?
This is my first time working for consulting company. No idea, whether WARN act applies here.
If company employs more than 100 people and at least laid off 50, the. It applies https://www.dol.gov/general/topic/termination/plantclosings
