Car buying advice.

Moved to Bay Area in June from NYC for a job. Currently living in South Bay. I go to the office once or twice a week. Company provides Via shuttle service and Lyft credits. So office commute is not an issue. But I feel I miss that sense of freedom as you need a car for everything else. I also enjoy outdoor activities a lot. Right now, I am managing with Uber and renting a car once a month for a week. My budget for a car is around 30-45k. Monthly expense is around 2.8k-3k. For EV, have chargepoint stations in my apartment or can charge at work for free. Which car should I buy from below? TC 280K

Used civics are still expensive. Need to find a dealer that is not marking up.

You can go for a ten year old one on Craigslist or FB marketplace

GLC is nice

Does it make sense to buy a used GLC ? Like 2021 model? Only then it can fit in the budget. New ones are expensive.

I bought new one, 50k total, if you do finance, it won’t make much difference. right?

Is it going to be available to buy soon?

Salesforce j45539 Dec 9, 2022

yes, should be available early next year as hybrid initially. I drove 2nd and 4th gen and loved them. The new one drops the ugly look and adds 100 ps, which pretty much makes it the perfect car for me. The 4th gen was already pleasent to drive so I am excited aboit the upgrades. They are extremely efficient vehicles as well

Someone said Civic, and that’s my recommendation as well. Something cheap to get you by for now. This generation of electric is promising, but still new. A new electric in 2025 would potentially have more of the bugs shaken out, if you’re able to get by with the cheapest thing that runs for now.

Yeah that makes sense. This is going to be my first car. My heart says to get the 2023 X1 as I have waited for so long but this makes more logical and financial sense. Just need to find a good deal on civic as used ones are still expensive.
