I’m transitioning from the military and looking to pivot towards IT. My super simplified goal/path is IT PM, IT Manager, IT Director, CIO. (As I said - oversimplified but always begin with the end in mind, right?) I have an MBA and some experience on proprietary software. In order to be competitive I’m completing CSM in April, Sec+ and Net+ May/June and PMP in July. I’m also earning the Google IT Support, Google Project Management and IBM Cybersecurity Analyst certifications on Coursera. Is all of this overkill? I have about 14 months so it’s all feasible but I’m also stressed because this is my first pivot after 20 yrs. My target job opportunity would be in Google as a Program Manager. Thanks in advance!
Have you looked into the company With you with me? They run programs specifically for veterans moving it IT.
Never even heard of them until now. I’ll definitely check it out. Thanks!
