Hi friends, I am looking for career advice and everyone on Blind is always so helpful. I am 23 years old and I have a bachelors degree in business Finance. I have around 5 years of banking experience (First Republic Bank, Bank of America, and Wells Fargo) making around $95k TC. If I am being completely honest, I go where the money is at, and with that being said, I am trying to transition my experience to software engineering/coding/tech. What boot camps/courses/ Etc. can I get into to get the experience without getting a bachelors in Computer science? Thank you. #tech #software #coding
I would recommend learning some sort of front end framework - react, iOS, android etc. pick one and stick with it - focus on depth instead of breadth of knowledge. You could go the bootcamp route - but that would be after you spend 2-3 months preparing on your own - there are lots of courses on educative, freedcodecamp etc. Without this prep you won’t thrive in the bootcamp. The transition to a software engineer job might take up to a year - any bootcamp that promises quick turnaround is lying.
Just start writing code
Do you have any recommendations on where to start?
