Career advice

I'm an engineer who don't work on anything in my day job. I mean real work. Pay is good though. Should I quit ? or utilize that free time in something beside the secured income ? I already picked the second option: Started online MBA and accepted an adjunct professor job in a local university to teach evening classes.
