Career growth - Google Cloud or Meta
I recently got an offer from Google for EM role. At Meta, in similar role. However, career growth seems really tough. Google comp is the same (slightly low considering front loading). Hiring manager said cloud will grow and opportunities will be more for future growth. I feel like I will make more money at Meta but unsure about growth considering the lack of innovation and company culture. I can be wrong though. I also feel I might waste the benefitof being experienced here as Google would mean a fresh start. Any advice or thoughts? TC: 650k
How long have you been at Meta? HM at G says they are growing did you ask how much open HC they have (and you'd have)?
Meta has no career growth for EM for next 2 years. Google cloud is sending a large amount of HC to India, so it’s a similar situation. Both are equally bad.
Meta has the fastest career growth. Don’t listen to Amazon. EM grows and I know many of them in person. Google Cloud, Humm, that depends on the product area.
Google is where careers go to slowly die.
