Promotions are really difficult at T-Mobile. There is no set standard for growth. If there is any senior position becomes available and your manager thinks that you are ready then you and manager need to prepare some presentation to leadership to convince them why you deserve a promotion. Now, there is no such formal timeline when one position will become available. Based on these things I believe it is easy to switch company. I'm thinking of switching once I get enough knowledge and can crack interviews.

I went from Contractor > hired > senior in under three years. And on my way to principle. Not sure why everyone is talking about it being hard.

Its hard to get promoted in the technology team but it depends on which group. If you say yes to everything and enjoy super stress you will be promoted.
