If your team does daily standups, your manager is a micromanager
I'm a mobile developer. How do I break into a niche that I'm interested in? Maybe I want to switch to web, or ML, or backend, but have no formal experience in any of this stuff? I'm an L5 at Amazon, and feel if I really wanted a shift, I should've done it at L4, as now I'm expected to have knowledge and experience in my new position before joining since I'm no longer a junior. This problem could be exacerbated as I transition to L6, right? Anybody go through this? How did you fare?
Just do it. I have picked up sr. Role, when i was just out of college. First 3 months are rough but fake it till make it man. You already are experienced better than what I was
I tried in 2021 when I was trying to move to a new city, but had to find another mobile dev position because no other teams were willing to fill an L5 position and have the guy learn on the job -- they wanted quick delivery
