I'm curious as well. What are the requirements to get in as L7?

It’s an easy path. Find the nearest door and make an exit.

😂😂 good for nothing

On a serious note you should ask career progression path to the hiring manager. They will have a better idea. Obvious part is they will give you a glossy picture but you can deduce a realistic scenario. If not, then my original comment will show you way to L6. 😁

Blind is full of poorly emotionally adjusted (wo)manchildren so you came to the wrong place. On your question - I unfortunately don't know enough about the SA role to say. Sounds like it's a ProServe role that'd lead to management from what I know; don't know if there's a specialist IC track for SA like there is for scientist roles. For scientist roles at least, L6 is senior and is often a practice manager role, above L5 many of whom are tech leads. L6 may be a lead of a larger project or running multiple L5/L6 tech leads, particularly for those who are senior L6 people. L4 is the lowest level. This all may or may not translate for SA.

Thank you for the details..sounds like engineering manager or tech lead could be possible …my interest and speciality is data science- will try to make a move once I get in (if I actually get in 😉)

I’m a SA at AWS. From what I have seen, L6 to L7 promotion is way less common than L5 to L6. Maybe people are leaving at L6 for better TC, dunno. L7 is supposed to be director+ level at small companies. I think I’ve seen L8 promotion only a few times. As you go up the level, you are to focus more on business side of things.

Got it. This is very helpful Any comments on my TC?

Is it 234 TC? If so it feels a bit low. I’m a L5 and at 220.

Amazon twofinger Jan 5, 2022

L6 to L7 is hard. Real hard. Promo docs are arduous and successful only half of time.
