Career steps for best TC?
I am currently a business & strategy analyst. Tc: $130k Bay Area Yoe: 3 excluding internships (have Master’s) Skills: Analytics, SQL, some Python, BI and finance focused on product strategy I think I’m making pretty low end salary for a 27 yo and would love to accelerate it. I’m not an SWE and won’t be venturing into that path. Don’t have much inclination toward Data Science either as I’m on the lowest rung of the talented skill set in the market. I would love guidance from analysts, product and business strategists, managers, etc. (anyone in the union of analytics and business) on what next career paths I can transition into and what is the maximum TC I can realistically aim for in the next year. I’m targeting $160k-$180k.
Switched from consulting at big 4 to data analyst after 1 year. No masters, 3 YOE. Should be a relatively easy pivot as long as you REALLY know your SQL. That TC seems very do able. Just be prepared for technical interviews and take home case studies. You can look into product analytics, business analytics, general DA, etc.
