Carta offer evaluation (Big no to Carta)
Carta recruiter called me after my onsite and offered me 150K base and 90K stocks for 4 years. I simply said don’t want waste my time. YOE: 11 #software #engineering

Yeah but you can already sell your Carta stock 4x a year since we’re building a marketplace for private equity and using it ourselves. Why go public?
Cause the pool of investors is tiny compared to the public markets. They’re, arguably, more savvy and will give reasonable valuations compared to the public markets.

To be honest, you must not have done well or had competing offers. I got an offer for 197k base and 320k over four years with four years of experience myself.
I read on their site you have a chance to liquidate stock every 12-18 months but how does that work. What's driving the amount you can sell for...

That's an offer for L3. So basically you didn't do well enough in your interviews to be leveled as a Senior Engineer. L4 Bands are pretty accurate compared to what's on levels.fyi (Add 10K to the average).
This makes sense, I think you're probably right. Looks like an L3 offer, and a reasonable one at that, especially if the OP is in any market other than NYC or SF.

Their recruiter gave me these numbers for Senior (L4 and L5) in NYC. 8~ yoe Senior ios engineer I stated I have two offers in hand from "startups and big corporations", and never gave any numbers to the recruiter. L4 - 190-200k base 300-315k over 4 years equity L5 - 200-220k base 350-375k over 4 equity equity
