Blind is an antisemitic cesspool
Hi All, Posting for my husband. His current TC ~280K. 8yoe. Sr. hardware engineer at a big tech company. Nuvia is verbally offering him 200K base and 50K in stock units, which was negotiated up from 180k/40k. Santa Clara location (but wfh for time being). Anyone working at Nuvia or also received offers can help comment on if this is fair offer?
Why move , TC looks pretty good
New opportunity I guess
‘I guess’? You don’t talk to your husband?
Where does he work now ?
It would help if you share the company so we know if it’s worth the move
Microsoft
Hmmm If he likes working in start up env then okay but wlb might be screwed
location?
Wait... is your husband trying to change company to get less pay? WTF? Time to get a new husband...
Lol wut!
Something must be missing here lol.
How is NUVIA as a company to work for?
It is good as a company to work for
What's his level at msft? Depending on how his promo trajectory is leaving could be good/bad.
Yeah exactly since offer is less than other factors are at play here. Whether it is fair or not is meaningless, it’s what the future holds.
Is equity 50K per year ? The wlb will definitely be affected, nuvia is one of the hottest startups, hopefully will live upto the hype
Says who?
Don’t get carried away with the hype of being hottest startup and all. I can tell you everything boils down to execution and time to market. Hardware startups are super super risky. A very minute mistake can take a respin and there goes your TTM. Hence bottom line is cover for risk and understand the exit criteria clearly. If anyone says they cannot share or plan to IPO, run away! They don’t have a strategy. So ask yourself why am I making this move? Work challenge or just experience or simply you don’t have any other choice. You have to cover for the risks you are taking plus the WLB compromises. Is 50k equity worth 1M in 4 years? Still not worth it. Ask right questions before you really make a move. DM me if you want to chat.
