I am starting to think Chinese interviewers currently fail non-Chinese candidates on purpose.
I have been changing jobs every year. Always step up 3.5 year total yoe 80k defense contractor associate swe1 yr 1 yr cofounder failed startup 90k consulting firm swe 1yr 180k cur 6 months swe Have been lc and am thinking about getting into faang. I can crack most med lc, hard is gamble. However, no big companies are contacting me. I added a bunch of swe and tech recruiters at companies I want to work at (100 connections reached weekly limit). Most accept but even after being a connection I don't get messages from Netflix, Meta, or Twitter. The only big tech that messages me is Amazon which I don't want to work for because of blind pip stories. Current situation is that I somehow have a interview lined up in Jan with Google after a prev failed onsite 1 year+ ago but I am trying to get a competing offer situation. I tried submitting resume cold in prev years but that is like 10% success rate for me. Do recruiters not message if you under 1 year? Do I take better linkedin picture? Do I beg for referrals? #tech #netflix #meta #apple
You should stay at your current job for at least 2 years. Jumping 2 or 3 times every year is fine but then you’re always stuck at entry level. People will usually assume something is off if that happens too frequently. Put TC aside first when you’re younger in your career to gain the skills and experience. Afterward you have more leverages
I have 3.5 yoe switched once per year
That’s not what I’m saying. If you were a recruiter and you look at your resume and see that this person jumps every year, wouldn’t you assume something is strange/ that he’s not gonna stay at your new company for longer than a year?
They probably think you’re a job hopper. I would stay at this current job for atleast 2 years.
1 year is a long time when new grads are making 300k
WTF is making $300k straight out of college? Stop being so fucking Blind delusional! Also, stop chasing the quick buck straight out of the gate. You have received great advice, you just don't like it. Stop job hopping, stay put, build experience and then jump for promotion not for extra TC. You have 3x 1YOE. You're as green as it comes, no FAANG will hire you without demonstrated breadth and depth of experiences, none of which you'll get on a one year stint. People who jump after 1 year are usually shit who can't cut it and quit before they get fired.
Dm me for facebook referral. Let’s see if your resume gets shortlisted through referral
It won't, he would have gotten a call already if their resume was worthy.
They already got a Google interview. So their resume is probably decent at worst.
Use Amazon as your counter.
That is assuming I pass G and amazon. I prep but I want to fire more than 1 shot at the dream.
