Does anyone know if in your offer letter for jpmc, you were guaranteed a bonus of X amount and then you got it, but you leave right after, do you have to pay that back?
They didn’t really specify a date, it’s confusing cause it links this bonus recoupment policy pdf which mentions “incentive awards are subject to clawback described in the firm’s most recent proxy statement”
I would read the firms most recent proxy statement then. Usually you see bonus payouts end of Jan. First wave departures post-bonus are end of February
How are they gonna get it back if you don’t pay?
Are you referring to sign-on or annual?
Annual, sorry I should have mentioned it in the post. It is a guaranteed annual though that I received
Annual generally aren't paid back. The signon may have a line in the offer letter saying if you need to payback
you’re good if it’s just annual bonus
Hold up … how are you all getting sign on bonus??
Did you end up paying any amount?
Usually you pay it back if you leave before a year
Is this specifically for chase or at your company newsela?
Pretty sure it’s just the standard for most companies. Maybe some companies do it different but leaving before a year and paying back the full amount is pretty normal. It’s usually in your offer letter.
