Now you no longer write code on your own. AI generated tools be it Claude, Gemini or Chatgpt or Co-pilot will make the code standardized across the world. Code Monkeys or Programming is going to get automated. The real value will be in AI where skills like NLP, Computer Vision, Deep Learning, Robotics, Recommendation Systems, Augumented reality, and other emerging fields are going to get more investments from Wall Street and VCs alike. Spinning a web app, or building a generic backend system for a product is going to be a work of 10-20 good engineers instead of previously required 100 engineers for which companies would typically outsource
Will PhD be the new requirement for tech? Should I go back for PhD now?
Not enough spots in phd programs to meet current demand. It will probably eliminate bootcamps. I don’t think it’s the worst idea, but don’t think it’s the best.
AI will complete phd in 5 minutes. Monkeys like you would take 5 years.
Good for our stocks portfolio . Everyone knows how much y’all really work in a day anyway. Things are going back to normal after the internet boom. Manufacturing and blue collar jobs are coming back Need to find industries where AI can’t make big impact short term It will take AI and robots another 10-15 years to catch up and kill jobs that are labor intensive like manufacturing and supply chain
Hey, op. I was wondering do you actually work in any enterprise systems at Al or spend 5 minutes trying said AI in your post at all ?
Yup. PIP incoming. Brace for impact. Move your kids out of CS
Exactly
