Are there any certifications worth getting that don’t cost a ton? Or recommendations for taking exams without a course. Product, agile, or six sigma. I don’t have any certifications currently...I’ve never thought they were necessary, but they seem to come up as “preferred” in a lot of product job descriptions and I’d be interested in anything that’ll give me an edge.
Product CSM or CSPO certificates are about $1k each, 2 days in classroom training, there is a test in the end for CSM, 37/50 is passing. Look up on scrum alliance
For agile, PMI-ACP is good but you need to prepare. Buy Joe philipps PMI-ACP prep caps for $13 on Udemy. Prepare and write the exam.
Is intel heavy on agile?
Depends on the team, grp and org you are in. My team and org don’t know much about program management in general anyway. Certifications help you get your resume picked and thst pretty much it.
Around $1000 for scrum alliance product cert and other product cert cheaper options, get a subscription/purchase course from LinkedIn learning, opensesame, Udemy and other and finish them and list them as self learning/training on resume. Shows initiative
I don't think any recruiter at a good company will ever care about LinkedIn or Udemy "self-learning" on resume.
Recruiters are looking to match resume with job posting. Will only help resume.
