Hello, Thinking about buying a 2015 (gen 2, not the latest gen, not a 2016) Chevy volt. I know they can get the green sticker, but what about the red stickers? I know the 2016 (latest gen) can get the red ones, but I'm not interested in buying a 2016. Is it possible for the 2015 to get a red sticker?

Are you buying the car from out of state? You can’t get a new sticker if the car has already had a sticker applied before 2017. If a car is eligible for the green or white sticker, but has never had a sticker, you can get one. For the 2015 Volt: “Eligible vehicles with the Low Emissions Package will have a C or a D in the 5th position of the VIN. Test Group Number must also match”
What if I buy a car on California that never got a sticker ?
Yeah that’s fine, but it would be rare if someone bought a car but never got the sticker.
