Offers I've received: -Rivian IT PM, contract, remote, $150k -Microsoft IT PM, contract (with a lower tier contract agency), remote, $120k -Credit Union Platform Services Manager, FT, $150k plus good benefits, 9% 401k match. Seattle area. 12 YOE. CISSP. Sysadmin and IT PM experience. Which should I go for, Blind? Will the MS contract role, despite being lower pay, potentially be worth it to have on my resume?
Credit union
Take the full time 9% 401k match is awesome and contribute to the max to 401k .. equities right now are on a sale so that and 9% match works out wonders And with looming recession contracting is not such a good idea
Agreed. Rivian is risky as well. Definitely don't do contract in this economy.
credit union
Credit Union should give you cushy hours to practice LeetCode and sys design to break into higher TC
Don’t expect job security at Rivian
Any equity with Rivian?
I’d say play the long game but recession risk is real. Take the MSFT contract role so you can get eventually hired FT and get a higher salary and better benefits than the other two roles.
Rivian IT org is a mess ,No one gives a shit about them

Didn't know MSFT paid such 🥜
It's a contract role with a lower tier agency. I'd love to get paid more, but don't know how to crack into higher TC roles. I was raised a farm boy, family made <$20k growing up, so me making >5x that is almost unfathomable money.
