BREAKING: Internal sources confirm another round of layoffs just hit emails at Tesla. For real.
I have two offers coming. One is for audible, salary around $125k. No bonus or equity. But I love audible as a product and use it daily. I have another potential offer from Red Canary. So not as well known of a company. But salary would be closer to $140k, with a 10% bonus and equity (not sure what their equity looks like yet). But the job (to me) is a bit more boring and the company isn’t as well known. Thoughts? For context, I’m single and live alone. Currently with Twitter on contract so I’m trying to get out of there. Title: Technical Recruiter YOE: 3
Just curious, what makes one job more interesting than the other if both jobs are tech recruiters? Both roles you talk to candidates and qualify them right? I feel culture should be the biggest consideration, not how much you love the product?
Red Canary is primarily security focused SWEs which just isn’t an interesting area for me personally. And a bit more boring of an industry. You also have to fight against the fact that you’re not a well known company while hiring, you have an immediate hurdle to overcome.
In the security space, Red Canary is well known and an attractive place to work. I find it hard to believe working for audible is more interesting than working for a cutting edge security company, but you do you
That’s great to know!! I had never really heard of them so this makes me feel better about the opportunity. Thank you
Get the money
That’s some solid comp for 3YOE and being in a recruiter function!
Yeah I’ve been lucky enough to make some strategic moves. When I first started I was making $32k! It’s definitely a hot job right now too. I know plenty of recruiters that make closer to $200 base

What did you choose?
Curious who you went with!
This is for an HR recruiter role?
Tech recruiter
So I work on tech only roles (generally backend SWEs of all levels)
