By the way itβs actually 3-4 months. The 6 months are from the time of notification but the exit date is actually in Feb/March

@infoblox they have reject around 20 guy same day, it was new grad off campus hiring , they added everyone in webx group, so i saw along wid me 20 others name in the rejectd list

Yup it most definitely will. They had to let shareholders know in the earnings call yesterday but have a lot of things to do before they can let the employees know. SMH π€¦π»ββοΈ
Are contractors affected? Like cutting all contractors in a team or just a few?

I am with Cisco since last 8 years as contractor !! I always see blue badge people getting layed off !! Contractors are more safe at cisco π
6 months is amazing but is it for everyone as in even for someone who has worked in the company for 1 year . Cisco might be one of the best companies to be laid off from but problem is in this job market finding a job might need atleast 3 months or even more .
Yup for everyone. People with higher tenure will get more. I have been with Cisco for less than a year so am torn between getting laid off for this severance vs keeping a stable job π
While they say 6 months, you are working for 3 months out of those 6 months. So, technically, it is 3months pay, not 6.
Who said it is layoff? No where mentioned. 6months back, already told talent rotation and 4000 reqs were open. Asked every one to move but no one movedβ¦only 150 count. So they have to take action. Layoffs means not allowing to join somewhere but they are still saying go and search where openings are and join (in cisco). We are not in freezing Cisco knows how to handle recession (not like amzn, fb and others) This is the truth at upper level
They don't call it layoff - it is "rebalancing".
They will NOT give 6 months allowance for all people !! Only people who was working more than decade !! Lot of calculations involved !! They will not give that to everyone
It is for everyone. For people working more than a decade, the severance is higher. Talking specifically about US. Check the private channel mate
