Cisco Layoffs - more rounds to come?
Is Cisco doing layoffs in waves? Are there more layoffs coming next year? I have an offer from Cisco Duo Security and wanted to assess the stability of Duo Security BU. I have another offer from Square similar TC. Deciding between the two. Tc 250k / year- 185k base and rest RSUs and sign on

Fintech is down right now, and strong dividend companies are a good choice in this recession. I suggest choose Cisco, we are done with layoffs this year so join and rest and vest for a while and then move to a growth company when the recession eases in a couple of years. Ask Cisco for more sign on stocks to sweeten the deal
Agreed . But Square has good wlb. How is wlb at Cisco?? Specifically Duo Security??
I don't know specifically that group, but WLB depends on your manager and director. Also Cisco is pro remote and hybrid work and I have seen most groups are ok with flexible work timings and respect WLB.
Cisco isn’t a sexy name, but the wlb is amazing. I’d say you can coast fairly easily. That is Cisco’s reputation, after all. The only other large tech company I know that’s comparable in wlb is probably Salesforce IMO
Good wlb, but with layoffs?
Layoffs at Cisco sound scary but really isn't. Just make sure you are not in the bottom 5% of your team, and even if laid off - Cisco has a very liberal and rich severance package, money, time and insurance coverage wise. This year folks are getting 6 months total worth of compensation. Once you internalize this part, as this comment OP said it's easy to coast and rest and vest at Cisco, esp in hybrid or work remote role.
