While every other company is laying people off and freezing hiring, Cisco is paying employees $1b more to keep them from leaving. What's the deal? https://seekingalpha.com/news/3875123-cisco-to-raise-costs-by-1b-over-next-12-months-to-stave-off-employees-leaving-report TC - $270k
Looking at the reviews it seems their pay is low and work is not that exciting. For non FAANG it’s hard to keep talent when people keep leaving for higher salaries.
That will get their salary just above the poverty range?
Yes in most companies until 2011 one of the most important KPAs for all managers was to retain their resources no matter what .. by extending bonus, changing work location aka short to long on sites, promotions, offering project change- internal shifting, anything and everything but to let go of an employee.. today I don’t know what’s happening .. employee care and requirements gathering, documenting and near perfect design with long term vision was very very imp but now everything is blindly agile in the name of performance including workforce .. hire and fire and leave workforce in limbo and managers with fatter bonus and job security and humiliation for the actual performers wasn’t in place earlier .. managers on all levels were meant to enhance employee care not manager care unlike the trend seen nowadays
Lol what? How is this even related to the question
They didn’t buy us so they have money to burn 🔥 🤷
Yeah, 990 M for the execs, rest for the employees
Hahahaha
Wow seriously, Cisco is just an ok ish company may be a tad better than joining Amazon but if this isn’t just for publicity its an encouraging move .
Better than Amazon? You must be kidding, right?
Overall yes , especially WLB plus Culture . If you consider only pay off-course Amazon is better.
Forget the money. How about innovation? Quality of work? Caliber of colleagues?
So all management is getting fat bonuses and laugh at low level people. K got it
Wow. My company didn't do shit for me this year.
Yes, it is weird that while nearly every other company is pulling back, they need to pay a giant sum to retain people. Why are people bolting from Cisco? Seems like a pretty nice place, if this report is legit. Cisco people, what is the story?
A pretty nice place?
